Oltre 9.000 km separano l´Italia dalla Corea del Sud. Ma esistono strade in grado di collegare generazioni o Paesi al di là della distanza. Sono ponti che vanno oltre asfalto aria o acqua, perché mettono insieme gusti o passioni. Basta pensare all´Hallyu, l´onda coreana, per rendersi conto che essere nati e cresciuti a Seoul o da questa parte del mondo poco importa, se a unire sono un gruppo di ragazzi determinati a eccellere su un palco dopo anni di training e sacrifici, spesso a discapito di gioventù, famiglia e amicizie. Fosse difficile da capire per molti, ma tant´è.

Il percorso per diventare idolo K-Pop implica competizione, alte aspettative e rinunce in una industria che può schiacciare. Non è solo questione di voce, anche se questa può avere di certo il suo merito. Conta la volontà di far divertire ed emozionare con un insieme di coreografie, immagini, danze, testi. Un certo settore snob della critica tende a ignorare il K-Pop. Ma negare l´impatto che questo fenomeno culturale, piú che musicale, sta avendo ovunque, é chiudere occhi e orecchie. Che piaccia o meno, la sua fan base é ormai uscita da lungo tempo dai confine coreani o asiatici, raggiungendo milioni di persone con cui le band condividono un rapporto alquanto stretto. Concerti di star come BTS e Blackpink riempiono le arene.  

Per chi non conosce questa realtà, un´occasione unica per familiarizzarcisi è il ritorno, dopo gli iDays a Milano nel 2024, degli Stray Kids. Il Dominate World Tour, promosso da Livenation, li porterà allo Stadio Olimpico di Roma dopo essersi esibiti in Europa ad Amsterdam, Francoforte, Londra, Parigi, Madrid. Le prevendite su Ticketmaster, Ticketone and Vivaticket sono giá iniziate.

What counts is the will to entertain and excite with a set of choreographies, images, dances, lyrics. A certain snobbish sector of critics tends to ignore K-pop. But denying the impact that this cultural, more than musical phenomenon is having everywhere, is like closing eyes and ears. Like it or not, its fan base has long since left the Korean or Asian borders, reaching millions of people with whom the bands share a rather close relationship. Concerts by stars like BTS and Blackpink fill the arenas.
